The Alpha Plus Group supports a large number of charities ranging from local community charities to those providing bursarial support.

Alpha Plus works with its schools, alumni, parents and other members of the community to facilitate fundraising for these charities, as well as making direct donations and gifts in kind. Activities included donations to local food banks, support for hospices and care homes, partnerships with local schools. During the course of 2020, some Alpha Plus schools have introduced a system that enables children to share birthday celebrations with a charity of their choice. In the year 2018/19, more than £800,000 was raised in gifts and pledges from the Alpha Plus family for a wide range of charities.

During the 2019-20 academic year 45 pupils were supported through bursary awards in Alpha Plus Group schools, including two survivors of the Grenfell Tower disaster being supported with 100% bursaries at two schools within the Alpha Plus Group. In addition, more than £700,000 in fee remission awards have been made to Alpha Plus schools and colleges through our scholarship programme.

In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, Alpha Plus has also announced the creation of a Hardship Fund to support families whose livelihood has been affected by the pandemic. To date, the Group has helped hundreds of families with grants of up to 100% of the summer term’s fees.
