It is wonderful to see staff, parents and pupils in our schools engage with local communities in various and inventive activities. Highlights from the Autumn Term:
Chepstow House School responded to the Rugby Portobello Trust shoebox appeal in November, with Year 7 collecting shoeboxes and hampers generously donated by the families of Chepstow House. In assembly, they were joined by The Rugby Portobello Trust, who gave the school an insight into where the gifts go and how many people will benefit from the appeal. Watch the video
Falcons School for Girls donated numerous bags of essentials and gifts to Rackets Cubed, a local charity that supports the community. The school’s Book Drive saw 850 donations to the Book Project.
Hilden Grange School supported the Tunbridge Wells Mayor’s Toy Appeal. The school also handed over a cheque for £11K to Evelina to round off its association with that charity. The school’s focus this term will be on Africa Promise.
Wetherby School ran a Wetherby Local initiative which resulted in £32,405.08 raised by the boys in the Readathon. The funds raised will be split four ways between Harrow Club, Avondale Extra, Young Minds and West London Action for Children. Other collections included a Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children and our Christmas Carol Concert collection for another local charity, St Mary’s Children’s Fund.
In New York, the NYC Marathon Fundraiser at Wetherby-Pembridge on 7 November successfully raised $ 6,800 for Ronald McDonald House.
We congratulate everyone involved for their efforts and generosity.
