In January 2020, RSAcademics conducted a survey of Corporate Social Responsibility activities of schools and colleges in the Alpha Plus Group, on behalf of the Group. Here are some highlights:
- £ 800,000 raised for charities last year: 71% of this went to local charities
- Over 80 charities supported by our different schools, some examples:

Our schools care about the environment too. Eco activities vary by school, but here are some common examples:
- All printers are set to print in black and white by default
- Paperless meetings
- ‘Switch it off’ campaigns
- Have motion-activated lights in all classrooms, corridors and open areas
- Plastic bottles bans
- Water taps are self-stopping
- Recycling bins are located around the school, including batteries
- The school community recycles/donates clothes through an organisation
- Engage in a school travel plan which reduces the
carbon footprint - Meat-free days scheme or similar
- Walk to school days
- Has a school planting programme e.g. planting bee-friendly plants, planting trees etc
