As the new school year begins, many schools in the Alpha Plus Group have returned to new and upgraded facilities completed during a busy summer building schedule.
Wetherby Preparatory School extended into 47 Bryanston Square creating space for 7 new classrooms, a drama suite with stage lighting, proscenium arch and stage set, a new IT suite, a new staff Common Room, a Wellbeing Hub and an improved dining room with kitchen facility.
Falcons Preparatory School in Richmond has brand new Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms and is ready to welcome the first cohort of boys who will start Reception in September 2020. The school was also equipped with a new IT room and entrance for the older boys on Kew Road.
Portland Place School students now enjoy brand new dining facilities, located at 143 Great Portland Street. The new dining room will satisfy many health appetites in a modern space.
The annexe at St. Anthony’s School for Girls has been refurbished and transformed to create a light-filled art facility: girls are looking forward to many happy hours of creative work there. .
Pembridge Hall School has a new science centre of excellence and works have commenced on the remodelling of their annexe building.
Following the acquisition of the 4th floor at the Hannah House building, Wetherby Senior School now counts an additional 6 classrooms. The school also fitted a new Science facility onto the 2nd floor of Marylebone Lane.
Work is now starting on next year’s projects, with improvements being planned for Wetherby Kensington School and Wetherby-Pembridge School over the next academic year, and there is also a new master plan being discussed for St Anthony’s School for Boys to improve the Senior House site.
The total amount of upgrade works commissioned in 2018/2019 totals around£10million.
