Alpha Plus Group have signed a five-year agreement with United World Schools (UWS), a UK registered charity, to provide a quality primary education to out-of-school children in remote communities in Cambodia. Ethnic minority and remote communities are often excluded from the public education system. They face challenges of poor infrastructure, insufficient government investment, low teacher attendance, marginalization for ethnic and linguistic reasons and a lack of financial resources. Mark Hanley-Browne, CEO of Alpha Plus Group said: “Alpha Plus schools have a strong record of service in the community here in the UK and our schools also take this spirit of service abroad. I am delighted that Wetherby Preparatory School and Wetherby Senior School will be leading on sponsoring the new school in Cambodia, through the help of the boys and their parents. The Wetherby schools and Alpha Plus are excited to have this opportunity to work with UWS on this very important project”.
