Abbey College Birmingham is situated close to Birmingham City Centre and provides a broad curriculum at GCSE and A-Level for students aged 14 years and above. Students are treated as mature young adults. Although much is expected from them in terms of industry and commitment, the college provides a high level of individual support, advice and guidance.

Peter Farrar

Peter has a wealth of educational leadership and management experience in both the maintained and independent sectors and most recently completed a very successful ten years as Head at Ratcliffe College, Leicester a leading independent school with a strong international dimension.

Peter took up the helm as Principal in September 2010 following a very good Ofsted inspection in May and the best-ever combined A Level and GCSE results at Abbey College Birmingham in August. He is delighted to be taking on the leadership of the College at such a buoyant time and believes that, with the support of a committed staff team, the College has real potential for further development as a centre of all-round educational excellence.
